wedding-related gifts

One of SDF’s interns got married this weekend. She looked lovely in a traditional backless white gown, and also wore a pink-and-red dress she designed and sewed herself to the reception (her mother, a bit horrified at the idea of her get married in it, insisted on getting her the white dress the day before). Since the bride is such a crafty person herself, I decided to make both her wedding and shower gifts.

For the shower gift I painted two tea cups with her and her fiance’s names. I created the stencils on my craft robo pro using the same font she’d used on the wedding invitations.

I kept on with the themes of glass and typography for the wedding present. The triangular glass vessel is painted with the lyrics to my favorite love song-Code Breaker by Tunng. The bulb and cord are courtesy of my boss’s left overs from his adventures in chandelier-making. I wired the thing myself and added a switch.
